The Association of Mzimu Woyera Seminary Alumni last Sunday handed over a water project worth K12 million at the seminary in Chikwawa Diocese.

Bishop of the diocese Father Peter Musikuwa received the donation on behalf of the institution.

The project comprises four overhead water reservoirs and a borehole, with water drilled from Shire River banks, according to the association’s president John Bande.

Bande said they decided to handover the project last Sunday since it was the Day of Pentecost.

“As alumni, we formed this association and mobilised resources by making contributions. We also reached out to some well-wishers to make sure that this project, which is meant to improve water supply to the seminary, is a success,” he said.

Bande said Wilson Phillips of Wilson Transport and the seminary’s rector Lazarus Maloya led the technical team during the project.

Phillips, an engineer by profession, said they embarked on the project because many of them would not have been where they are if it were not for the special leadership programme the seminary offers. n
