Senior Chief Malengachanzi of Nkhotakota has died.
In a press statement, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development says the senior chief died in Lilongwe of high blood pressure on today morning.
Confirming the development, Ministry spokesperson Muhlabase Mughogho said Malengachanzi was in Lilongwe on a personal visit and he collapsed in a room due to high blood pressure. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).
Burial is on Wednesday June 21 2017 at his Malengachanzi Headquarters,Nkhotakota.
Born in 1938, the senior chief whose name was Moses Malenga was installed as chief Malengachanzi in 1987. He is survived by a wife and seven children, 35 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
