Sfaw launches animal rights campaign

Sympathy for Animal Welfare (Sfaw) has embarked on a door-to-door campaign to ensure Mzuzu residents observe animal rights.

On Thursday, Mzuzu City Council (MCC) assistant director of planning Mariana Banda said: “This is a good initiative. We will work with Sfaw by making sure that by-laws are enacted to ensure communities observe animal rights. Right now, the documents are waiting for board’s approval.”

Senior resident magistrate Brian Sambo commended Sfaw for launching the push for the Animal Protection Act, which he said lacks enforcement.
