Shire Movies say Puludzu II will be out in three months time.

A few years ago, the film-maker released Puludzu, which features musician Lucius Banda. The debut was followed by two other movies. However, the group says it is releasing part II of the first movie Puludzu.

Prince Sabuni, leader of the film-maker, said in an interview the group is returning big this year.

“The longer you stay and concentrate in a career, the more you get vast experience. Our time in movies has taught us a lot. We have matured over time and we want to value all our productions,” said Sabuni.

He said many people have questioned the logic behind making the movie short.

“Many people have told us that Puludzu leaves them in suspense. They would love to see how the boy who abused his father’s property and later on forgiven by the father would behave thereafter. So Puludzu Part II gives out the second chapter of the story,” he said.

The story in Puludzu is similar to the biblical story of the prodigal son.

Sabuni said part two is about the influence riches have on behaviour at community and family level. He also said the movie touches on the role of parent in children’s behaviour and the need to link children born in urban centres with those in the village.

“The story in the movie ends in tragic as neighbours and relatives decide not to attend the funeral at Puludzu’s home to give the family a lesson, that riches without good relationship with neighbours and relatives is nothing,” he says.
