Ben Sisters finished third in Blantyre Urban encounters after beating Izo-Izo Juniors 21-12. Evergreen Sisters took the Blantyre Rural third-place slot with a 32-12 win against Nkhumbe Sisters.

Shizaella coach Shizo Viyuyi said yesterday they are happy to have defended the Blantyre Urban title and they are looking forward to making a breakthrough into the Southern Region finals.

“We are happy with the title defence. However, we will be happier if  we make a breakthrough at the regional finals and probably qualify for the national finals. After our triumph at district level, we will not rest, but engage in intensive training ahead of regional encounters,” he said.

According to Blantyre District Netball Committee (BDNC) general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie, the Blantyre Urban and Rural finalists will face-off in battle for regional finals slots at the BYC this weekend. n
