The winner will get K1 million (about $2 500) whereas the loser will pocket K500 000 (about $1 250). In addition, each team will receive 20 percent of the gate takings.

MultiChoice Malawi sales and marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda announced this on Saturday night at Steers Debonairs.

“It will be played for 90 minutes and there will be no extra time. The prize presentation will take place in a traditional set-up. GOtv will give the winner a wooden trophy designed by Malawians. Branded uniforms for each team will bear players’ names at the back,” he said.

There will also be a GOtv Lilongwe Select netball match against GOtv Blantyre Select. The game will mark the start of GOtv Netball Champions League to involve Civonets, Bingu Tigresses, MTL Queens, Civonets and Escom Sisters.

The league will have all participating teams dressed by MultiChoice who have gone a step further to design each club’s logo.

Veteran netballers will be the league’s commentators and some games will be beamed on MBC TV/GOtv.
