Civo and Silver Strikers will on Saturday curtain-raise the Fellowship Association of Malawi (Fama) Top 8 Trophy finals between Bullets FC and Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

Fama secretary Japhet Majekete said they decided to bring the two Lilongwe giants to add flare to the finals.

“All is set for the finals and we are happy with how the tournament has progressed. The teams have given their best and fans have turned up in large numbers despite it being off-season. We hope to wind up in style on Saturday.

“Apart from that, we have also invited musicians to perform, so it will be a worthwhile Easter Saturday, which fans should not miss,” he said

Civo were knocked out of the competition by Blue Eagles in the quarter-finals, whereas Silver Strikers did not participate.

Bullets and Eagles are meeting in the finals for the first time since their 1994 Chibuku Cup crunch, which the latter won.

Eagles ended their 16-year trophy drought last December, when they clinched the Standard Bank Cup.
