Silver Strikers have revealed their interest in Be Forward Wanderers players, including midfield talisman Joseph Kamwendo.

However, Wanderers have challenged the Bankers that they cannot afford the former Orlando Pirates player.

Wanted: Kamwendo is on Silver’s radar

Silver general secretary Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda confirmed they were pursuing some Wanderers players and that they were on the verge of concluding a major deal.

“Joseph [Kamwendo] is a good player, we all know that.

Which team does not want a good player? But let’s cross the bridge when we get there.

“Right now what I can confirm is that we are invading Wanderers. There shall be a big signing from Wanderers.”

Ask which players they Bankers are eyeing to sign, Chakaka-Nyirenda said “We will strike where it pains most.”

But Wanderers team manager Steve Madeira has described the Bankers general secretary’s statements as hallucinations.

Medeira said the Bankers cannot afford a player of Kamwendo’s calibre.

“They will have to break the bank to afford Kamwendo,” he said.

Meanwhile, the player has remained mum on the issue.

In a related developement, Silver have snatched former Karonga United midfielder Hygiene Mwandepeka, who just last week was reportedly destined to joined newly promoted Super League side.

Chakaka-Nyirenda said they had been in negotiations with Mwandepeka even before  Masters Security showed interest.

“Now I can confirm that we have signed him,” he said
