Silver Strikers outgoing executive committee says it is proud of its achievements during their two-year term in which they won TNM Super League titles back-to-back.

Silver general secretary Owen Munthali told MIJ FM that their term is over and the team will go to polls before the start of the new season.

“I have to make it clear that our term was for two years and we now have to hold elections to seek a fresh mandate.

“But on behalf of the executive, I should say we are proud of our achievements. Defending the TNM Super League is not a joke

“We hope the new team will ensure that the success story continues and attain more honours such as excelling in cup tournaments that have eluded us,” he said.

Silver’s Super League win last week made them the most successful team in TNM’s league sponsorship era as they claimed their fourth title.

The team also won two consecutive titles in 2008 and 2009.
