On Tuesday, Silver chairperson Dr. McDonald Mafuta Mwale noted that his side had limited options in central defence and upfront.

“We need reinforcements in striking force and defence. Unless Panganeni Ndovi, who is coming back gets fully fit, then we need an addition. There is also only one player for the central defence. We also have few strikers,” Mwale said.

Defenders Ndovi and Bernando Namangwiyo’s injuries leave the defensive task on fast-improving captain Lucky Malata.

Upfront, Rodrick Gonani is the only reliable striker and finished the season on 14 league goals. Others such as Green Harawa and Tony Chitsulo are improvised forwards.

Silver have only this month (March) to beef up as the new season starts in April.

The Bankers, whose superior aggregate earned them the title after counting out Big Bullets on 58 points, will be crowned on March 8 2013 in Lilongwe.
