Last weekend, the Bankers scored seven goals in the two games.

On Saturday, Silver beat Moyale Barracks 5-2 while on Sunday they defeated Bvumbwe Research 2-0. Peter Mwenda and Frank Banda were on target in the game against Bvumbwe.

“Like I have been saying, this is great for our fans who have in the past been denied celebrations at their home ground,” said coach Thom Mkorongo.

Silver now have 28 points from 12 games. They have scored 29 goals.

As impressive as the statistics look, Mkorongo is against complacency and said he has urged his players not to relax.

“We cannot afford to relax at this stage. There is a lot to fight for. This is just the first round and we need to work extra hard if we are to retain the league title,” he said.

While all was rosy for Silver, it was gloom for Moyale and Bvumbwe who lost their away assignments. Moyale also lost 3-2 to Blue Eagles at Nankhaka in another Super League clash.
