Silver Strikers management has taken on board three former Escom United players, Chipiliro Jose, Ndaziona Chatsalira and Young Chimodzi Jnr, according to coach Thom Mkorongo.

The Super League defending champions have also roped in defender Wonderful Germani from Mitundu and are currently trying their luck on Chikondi Likwemba.

“Everything concerning Jose, Chimodzi, Germani and Chatsalira has been finalised. Now we are monitoring Likwemba to see how he performs. So far he has been impressive,” said Mkorongo, who has set the Presidential Cup as his target.

The head coach could not reveal as to how much they have paid for the four players, insisting the deals have been finalised.

Mkorongo, who heads a technical panel of Itayi Nundwe, Sibusiso Padambo and Hellings Mwakasungura, announced that his team will not offload any player this season.

“We will keep all our squad and no player will be offloaded. We are trying to build a winning team and as such it is paramount that we have a big squad for options in case of injury. A strong bench will also give the team depth,” he said.

Chatsalira is expected to compete against an array of quality midfield of Peter Pindani, Clement Mvula, Jester Mulima, Dave Moya and Frank Banda for a starting line-up.

Silver’s rivals Civo United, who have been linked with former Bullets player Wyson Nkana, Lawrence Mwehiwa, Noel Mkandawire and Alick Lihuhu, are yet to conclude the deals.

“We have a number of players that we indeed want to sign and so far we have established negotiations. We are just waiting for feedback. But I am not at liberty to discuss details of the deals,” said Civo coach Alex Masanjala.
