“We are not buying anymore players. We are happy with the players that we have now and we believe the next season will be a success. We have about a month for these players to gel as a team,” said Silver spokesperson Chimwemwe Mkwimba.

He also announced that the club has transfer-listed Mabvuto Kozomba, Isaac Nyemera, Ian Banda, Dailesi Yasin, Blessings Banda and Kondwani Chirwa.

“With the squad we are building, we thought it proper to put these players on transfer. We have offers from Civo for Banda and Yasin and Nyemera from Mzuni, but no deals have been completed so far,” said Mkwimba.

Mkhwimba also announced the appointment of former striker Rodrick Gonani as reserve side head coach while former winger Dave Moya is the team manager.

“We thought of rewarding Gonani and Moya for their long service to the club by giving them other roles at the club. The two are yet to get formal coaching training.

“But we will be sending them soon so that they can train as coaches,” explained Mkwimba.

One of the directors of the club, Chikumbutso Kalilombe, said they expect great success next season.

‘We were used to be league champions and hopefully next season we can win some silverware. It is unfortunate that last season we failed to win anything,” said Kalilombe.
