Silver Strikers Youth are this year’s FMB Under-20 National Football champions after beating Ntopwa Super Boys from Blantyre 1-0 in the final match at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.
Ronald Pangani scored the lone goal in the 20th minute.
To reach the finals, Silver Youth thrashed Malema from Karonga 5-1 while Ntopwa edged Fish Eagles 1-0.
Ntopwa had their goal by Happy Kasamba disallowed in the 79th minute for off-side, a decision that did not go well with the club’s officials who invaded the pitch in protest and the match was stopped for about seven minutes.

Silver Youth coach Dave Moya admitted that it was a tough match and they were lucky to have won.
His Ntopwa counterpart Enos Chatama blamed poor officiation for his team’s loss.
For their feat Silver Youth received a trophy and K1 million while Ntopwa refused to get their K600 000 prize money in protest against officiation.
FMB managing executive and head of government and international organisations Patrick Kabambe pledged continued support towards the league whose sponsorship package is K20 million.
“Through this league, we have seen the development of players that have gone on to play for national teams. It is our goal to produce more players through the league,” he said.
Newly-elected National Youth Football Association (NYFA) chairperson Chimango Munthali hailed FMB  for the sponsorship. 
