Six sponsors join hands for Mr. Zomba contest

At least six firms have joined hands to pump about K700 000 into the Mr. Zomba Body Building Competition set for December 26 at Pajokala Lodge.

While other minority sports disciplines struggle to find corporate sponsors, the Mr. Zomba event basks in overwhelming support from Zomba-based firms such as Pajokala Lodge, Rachel Suppliers, DR Hardware and Stationeries and Feg Distributors.

“The names of the other two sponsors will be revealed later and four more companies have shown interest to support us,” said the event’s manager and Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi’s (Wbam) Eastern Region chairperson Bright Limani.

“We are very grateful to these firms because it is rare during these hard economic times for companies to sponsor competitions, especially minority sports such as bodybuilding.”

Limani has since urged interested bodybuilders, power-lifters and weightlifters to register for the competition before November. n
