Lilongwe Police Station spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula confirmed the incident, saying the students were protesting against writing terminal tests.

“The [school] administration was preparing terminal tests, but students were not satisfied with the way they were taught.

“When the rest of the students went for the assembly on Monday morning, the six suspects went to a hostel and started smashing window panes,” said Dandaula adding that the value of the damage is yet to be established.

He said the suspects are in police custody and will appear before court soon. n
