The Ndife Amodzi hitmaker made the revelation when quizzed about adverts linking him with a show alongside Alleluya Band at Club 21 in Liwonde on Friday.

He said the pub proprietor has rescheduled his appearance in the riverside town to pave the way for his performance at Greers Lodge in Randburg, Johannesburg, on the same night.

Apart from Chimoto and Lomwe, the export of Malawian vibes will feature Mbewa Zanga star Wilson Mwase and Blue Elephant Club DJ Rabba.

A Facebook entry by M Promotions and The African Mixer DJ Tabs, who are jointly hosting the tour, shows that the foursome will spend Saturday night at Cafe De Oasis before reverting to Greers for a family affair on Sunday afternoon.

Said Chimoto: “It’s true I was supposed to perform in Liwonde this weekend, the owner of Club 21 has agreed to push forward my date because he appreciates it is a rare opportunity for a Malawian artist to perform abroad.

“When Malawians beyond the borders call, it is always my pleasure to be there. It’s a great reunion. They speak Malawian languages, share experiences about life on foreign soil and dance like we do. The shows help them remember where they are coming from.”

According to DJ Tabs, Chimoto returns to the ‘City of Gold’ by public demand.

This time, the ‘Jamming Machine’ will bring along his live band, comprising his brother-turned -backing vocalist Evalisto, bassist Isaiah Sosi, keyboardists Happy Thom and Kossam Bowa, lead guitarist Yohane Kachambo and drummer Phillip Chavula.

DJ Lomwe was quoted in Nation on Sunday as being excited to perform alongside fellow Malawians where the M-net reality show Big Brother Africa turned
him into a continental celebrity.
