Smelling fresh in hot weather

Listen to this article

It’s extremely hot both inside and outside and the heat is becoming too much to bear! Smelling nice and fresh comes so easily for some of us that we do not need any instructions, while some people’s unpleasant smell can make you incredibly uncomfortable, sometimes even nauseous.

If you don’t shower or bathe regularly, your body’s natural oils sweat, and dead skin cells will begin to accumulate.  This is not bad or dirty since this will not make you smell, it is the bacteria that eats dead skin cells and thrive in moist conditions that creates unpleasant odour as we have read in our previous articles.

Staying fresh and fabulous when the climate becomes too hot to bear can be extremely difficult, but thanks to the beauty world for the heat-fighting essentials that can help keep our skin fresh when we are getting hot and sweaty.

Shaving the hair under your arms can help with odour issues, the same goes for your genital area, however, whether or not you shave, use an antiperspirant or deodorant, and take a private moment to sniff your underarms throughout the day to check if there’s unpleasant odour building up, and keep applying more or wash your underarms.  Carry some refreshing towelettes with you for instant freshen-up.

Steer clear of musky, heavy perfumes in hot weather, instead go for body sprays straight out of the shower which are lighter or use eau de toilettes.  Talcum powder or baby powder can also be used just after taking a bath or shower wherever there are major sweat glands like underneath breasts, or back of your knees.
