Insect Stings
After removing the stinger, mix a little water with soda to form a paste and apply over the affected area. This will help relieve pain and itching as well as decrease redness and swelling.
Itching
The following remedies can help relieve itching from a number of problems, including dry skin, chickenpox, shingles and rectal itching:
Add 1 cup of soda to lukewarm bath water, stir and soak for 20 minutes.
Dissolve 1/3 cup of baking soda in 1 litre of water, soak a washcloth in it, wring it out and apply over the affected area.
Form a paste by adding a little water and apply.
