Sparc Systems donates K1m towards Mayor’s Trophy

 

Malawian-owned information and communication technology (ICT) solution provider Sparc Systems Limited on Wednesday donated K1 million towards the Blantyre Mayor’s Trophy.

The ICT company’s managing director Wisely Phiri said being a Malawian company, they thought it wise to honour the city where they came from.

“We know the contribution that the mayor’s trophy has made in terms of developing sports from the grassroots.

“It is also part of our corporate social responsibility,” he said.

Blantyre City mayor Noel Chalamanda expressed gratitude for the donation, saying: “My profound word of gratitude to Sparc Sytems for this great gesture of generosity.

“This donation speaks volumes about your commitment and corporate responsibility to your city.”

The mayor also said he is glad that the drive to revive the competition has so far received an overwhelming response.

Recently, Chibuku Products Limited (CPL), through its non-alcoholic brand Super Maheu, donated K700 000 to support the competition.

Rab Processors Limited and Prisma Marketing also assisted with K700 000 and K120 000, respectively. n
