The Sports Complex Carlsberg six-a-side social football league returns in Blantyre with the launch on April 4 at the College of Medicine facility.

The complex’s sports officer Chris Siliya yesterday said the league would run for 12 weeks with games played indoors.

“The entry fee for each team is K20 000. With K20 000, an organisation can advertise at the Complex by putting banners during the tournament. The six-a-side soccer league will include great music and food,” said Siliya.

At the end of the 12 weeks, the champion will receive a trophy, medals and 12 golf shirts. The runners-up will go away with 12 T-shirts and 12 medals with the third-placed side set to get 12 caps and 12 medals.

There will also be accolades such as best dressed team to receive 12 golf shirts and 12 caps whereas the top goalscorer will go home with a Carlsberg-branded football and golf shirt. There will also be prizes for man of the match.

Chartered Insurance social team are the defending champions.
