Sprite talent battle goes to Malawi’s Central Region

Do you have what it takes? This is the question Carlsberg Breweries will be throwing at contestants when they meet in the regional finals of Sprite talent competition at Crossroads Hotel in Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe, on Saturday afternoon.

The battle of three talents—rap, dance and disc jockeying—goes to the Centre after an all-male start at Blantyre Sports Club two weeks ago. The Southern Region showcase put the contenders’ swagger under the prowling eyes of a star-studded panel of judges, including renowned music producer Tapps Bandawe and rapper Young Kay as well as deejays Kenny Klips, Drew and Celeste.

This time, an announcement by the bottling company shows the desk will welcome new addition– rapper Piksy.

At the end of the regional showdown, each category will produce three winners, said Carlsberg senior brands manager for non-alcoholic beverages Brenda Chilima.

The winners from the three regions will battle it out in a national final slated for December 15 at Crossroads.

Southern Region’s dance cast—Atoti2shot, Team Gypsy and Fun Boys—has the moves to keep any competitors on their toes.

Carlsberg will also give away Sprite T-shirts, caps and other branded items.
