Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) has rescheduled the kick-off of the OG Issa League to this week after persistent rains spoiled the 12-game show at the Blantyre Youth Centre (BYC), Zomba Airwing and Chitakale in Mulanje last weekend.

Last Sunday’s match between leaders Complex Tigresses and Shizaella Sisters ended at half time after the BYC Court was waterlogged. Tigresses were leading 40-5. However, the game was replayed yesterday at the College of Medicine (CoM) Sports Complex.

According to SRNL general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie, MTL Queens will travel to Zomba to meet hosts Airwing Sisters this Saturday. On the same day at the BYC, Shizaella will face Aquaid Queens while Gerald Tasaukadala will take on Chitakale Sisters and Prison Sisters. Young Girls will also be up against Chilomoni Sisters at the BYC.

On Sunday, Tigresses will tussle against Triggers Sisters before taking on Prison Sisters at Airwing Netball Court in Zomba. Tigresses will wrap up their weekend fixtures with an encounter against hosts Airwing Sisters.

Chitakale will be at home in Mulanje on the day to have a clash against Shizaella Sisters.

MTL Queens will have two games at the BYC on Sunday; one against Chilomoni Sisters and the other against Woget Stars. At the same venue, defending champions Diamonds will sort it out against Aquaid Queens and Gerald Tasaukadala Sisters.

Tigresses completed the first round two weeks ago on top of the 13-team log table with 36 points while Diamonds are took the second place with 33points. MTL Queens and Wogets Stars finished the round on 30points and 27points, respectively.
