St Cecilia Choir of Sigerege under Chilomoni Parish is set for its third album double launch on September 2 and 9 in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

They will launch both the DVD and CD at Chilomoni Catholic Hall.

The CD was recorded at Zee Sounds Studio in Blantyre’s Likhubula whereas the DVD was recorded at Creative Works in Blantyre. The album, Kulira Kuzasanduka Chimwemwe, contains 10 songs all in Chichewa language.

The choir is destined for an encounter with Polytechnic Catholic Choir, St Cecilia Women’s Choir from St Montfort Parish (CI), St Vincent Mwangata from Chadzunda, an arm of CI, St Cecilia Women from M’thawira Parish in Machinjiri, St Jones from Chemusa and some other choirs.

The choir’s secretary, Steven Montfort, said the live performances would entertain people while spreading the gospel.

The DVD, dubbed the best of St Cecilia Volume one, has songs from the previous albums that were hits such as Kachisi wa Ambuye from their first album and Tagwada and Antchito Chabe from their second album.

The group’s choir Master, Kingsley Meleka, urged people to patronise the launches as this will help the choir raise funds to help take its talent to another level.

“The money that we are going to get from the launch will be used to buy equipment for the choir and part of it will help the needy in hospitals, a thing that we always do,” said Meleka.
