St Charles Lwanga Parish Choir in Zomba on Saturday held a Big Walk to raise funds towards the launch of their DVD next month.

The walk started from their parish to Thondwe Pastoral Centre covering a distance of about 15 kilometres.

The choir’s trustee vice chairperson Daniel Matete said they are expected to raise close to K500 000 (about $1 660).

“We have been holding choir festivals apart from this Big Walk and the money will go towards expenses of producing the DVD. This includes transport to and fro shooting places. We are at an advanced stage in the shooting and one track is costing about K15 000 (about $50) to K20 000,” he said.

The 30-member choir has, since its formation a few years ago, released two audio CDs titled Ndatembenuka and Lero Ndi Tsiku.
