Both clubs expressed dissatisfaction with the revenue and Silver’s general secretary Mike Tembo claimed that if the match were played at Silver Stadium, it could have been in excess of K7 million.

“We were not satisfied with the amount because it certainly did not represent the huge turnout,” said Tembo.

Tigers technical director Robin Alufandika said: “There is a lot of money that grows wings at the gates and it is unfortunate.”

The semi-final match between Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers that was played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre grossed about K5 million while the other involving Mafco and Azam Tigers which was at Silver Stadium made about K800 000.
