Standard Bank has kept under wraps the final votes for the K20 million Standard Bank Knockout Top Eight after Monday’s cut-off point for voting.

The bank’s head of marketing Linda Kachingwe-Sisya said FAM will announce the final votes this Friday at the national draw set for Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.

“Standard Bank customers from all walks of life actively participated in the voting process,” said Kachingwe-Sisya on Tuesday.

Bullets general secretary Higger Mkandawire was on Monday optimistic of leading in the votes.

As of last Monday, Big Bullets led the race on 1 013 votes followed by Azam Tigers on second position at 636 votes.

On third position were Red Lions on 248 votes whereas Blantyre United were fourth with 189 votes. Bvumbwe Research were fifth on 78 votes.

The four top teams will compete for the final spot in the Standard Bank Cup Knockout round of eight.

The teams that already qualified are Silver Strikers, Escom United, Mighty Wanderers, Civo United, Moyale Barracks, Epac FC and Blue Eagles.

The seven teams were picked based on their standings in the 2011/12 TNM Super League. Eagles are the defending champions.
