The Standard Bank annual Joy of Jazz concert returns in October with a new brand platform called Blue Mingoli.

Announcing the development during a press briefing in Lilongwe on Thursday, Standard Bank head of personal and business banking Margaret Kubwalo-Chaika said Blue Mingoli is a celebration of Standard Bank’s iconic corporate and brand identity that has blue as the outstanding colour.zahara

Kubwalo-Chaika said Blue Mingoli highlights the power of relevant connections that the Standard Bank brand has with its customers who are lovers of music.

She said the bank will maintain the standards set in 2012 when it brought South Africa’s sultry and award-winning vocalist Zahara.

“We are here to continue with our legacy of entertaining customers through jazz music. Most importantly, Blue Mingoli resonates with one of our objectives to promote local artists who share the stage with an international artist of our choice,” she said.

She said Standard Bank, which has so far brought Zahara and Jimmy Dludhlu from South Africa and American Grammy Award winning artist Earl Klugh, will this year maintain the tradition of inviting an international artist.

This year’s Blue Mingoli will take place at the Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe on October 24.

Ahead of the concert, Standard Bank has lined up a launch event at Chameleon in Lilongwe where the bank is set to announce the name of the headline artist and the supporting acts.
