Standard Bank says the renovation and expansion project of its Ginnery Corner branch underscores the bank’s commitment to provide an ambient and convenient banking environment for its customers and also a pleasant working environment for its staff.

“The expansion and refurbishment was designed to enhance our look and feel and also make room for future growth ambitions of the business,” said the bank’s head of personal business banking, Margaret Kubwalo-Chaika, in a statement.

The bank reopened its refurbished premises last Monday, February 18.

Kubwalo-Chaika paid tribute to customers for bearing with the branch during the months it operated in temporary premises behind the refurbished branch.

She thanked the customers for their patience and loyalty to the Standard Bank brand.

“We wish to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during the period of renovation. The refurbished branch is now more spacious to provide convenience to our customers and was worth the wait,” said Kubwalo-Chaika.

She said the refurbishment has seen the bank’s automated teller machines (ATMs) moved near the Drive-In section to provide more privacy and ease of access by customers.

Kubwalo-Chaika said the branch takes pride in being the only one offering a drive-in banking solution in Malawi and this has been maintained even after the renovations.

“We are committed to pioneering innovative solutions that are relevant to our customers’ needs and that are aligned to the latest technology and we will deliver more innovation,” she said.

The expanded branch now offers dedicated sections for customers in the priority banking segment and a full-fledged customer consultant’s section, additional teller counters and has a general feel of a modern banking outlet.
