Standard Bank rewards match makers

Standard Bank has rewarded outstanding players in quarter-final and semi-final matches with K10 000 (about $25) each.

Blantyre United’s Abraham ‘Aboutrika’ Kamwendo stands head and shoulders above the rest as he will pocket K20 000 (about $50) for being named man-of-the-match twice.

According to Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka, Kamwendo was named the outstanding player in the quarter-final match between United and Mponela as well as last Sunday’s semi-final tie between United and Kamuzu Barracks (KB).

Benjamin Kalua was named man-of-the-match in the quarter-final match between Red Lions and Evirom, Gastin Simkonda in the match between Moyale and Mafco and Harvey Nkacha in the game between KB and Big Bullets.

Moyale’s goaltender McDonald Harawa was named outstanding player in Saturday’s semi-final match against red Lions.
