Students will watch Malawi Under-20 national football team match against South Africa tomorrow at Bingu National Stadium for free, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced.

The two sides clash in the 2019 Under-20 Afcon last qualifying round second leg after the first leg ended 0-0 at Moruleng Stadium on Sunday.

The Junior Flames are hoping to use home advantage to boot out Amajita and book a place to next year’s finals in Niger.

But with a TNM Super League match between crowd-pullers Silver Strikers and Nyasa Big Bullets also in action at Silver Stadium, just a stone’s throw away, FAM has reacted by slashing the gate charges.

FAM president Walter Nyamilandu said the students only have to come in uniform to enter for free.

“We are urging all fans and students to come and cheer their peers that will be playing on Saturday [tomorrow]against South Africa. We want to give the team full support,” he said.

Meanwhile, Under-20 coach Meke Mwase said he is expecting a tough opponent, but is confident that Malawi will qualify.

Mwase said: “It’s going to be a tough game. That’s why we are taking it very seriously. All we need is to make sure we score more goals and at the same time avoid giving them a chance to score an away goal,” he said.
