The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) was yesterday elusive on the actual date for the TNM Super League replay between Silver Strikers and Mighty Wanderers in an empty Kamuzu Stadium.

Unconfirmed reports indicate Sulom had suggested February 13 2014 for the match.

But Wanderers general secretary David Kanyenda yesterday told MBC Radio One they would prefer to face Silver after the Zambezi Soccer Challenge Cup which kicks off on February 15.

Silver, however, are willing to face the Nomads on any date suggested by Sulom.

Sulom general secretary Williams Banda was as of Wednesday waiting to see whether the two clubs would appeal against a Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Disciplinary Committee verdict which fined Silver K1.75 million (US$4 186) while Nomads were ordered to pay K500 000 (US$1 196).

Meanwhile, Kamuzu Stadium manager Charles Mhango yesterday said he was waiting for Sulom to meet them and explain who will be responsible for cleaners and security among others.

“Last time they hosted a game at the stadium, there was violence and the cost of the damage was over K200 000 (US$478) which they have not paid up to now. I also heard that they were suggesting a replay on February 13 which is a Thursday,” Mhango said.
