The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) says as of yesterday it had not processed any player transfer, a week after the transfer window was opened.

Sulom general secretary (GS) Williams Banda yesterday said: “As of today [yesterday], we have not processed any transfers. Maybe the teams feel that they have good squads and there is no need to beef up or else they are still discussing.”

Banda: Nothing in my in-tray

At the centre of the transfer window is Civil Sporting Club’s marksman Raphael Phiri whose sgnature is being sought by Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Strikers despite the Civil Servants’ insistence that the top-flight league second leading scorer is not for sale.

The transfer window which opened on July 30, will close at midnight on August 11 while action in the second round resumes this Saturday.

The Sulom GS has since appealed to the clubs to adhere to transfer rules and regulations.

“We also want to urge the clubs to follow the modern domestic transfer matching system [DTMS] which was shunned by many at the start of the season.”
