Sulom has thrown out Mighty Wanderers complaint that Karonga United featured an ineligible player during their Super League game on October 5 in Mzuzu.

However, Wanderers have since faulted Super League of Malawi’s (Sulom) findings, saying they will pursue the issue further.

WanderersThe Nomads lodged a complaint that Karonga featured Bruno Kamanga, who they claimed belonged to Saint Kaduya who play in the Central Region Football League (CRFL).

The Nomads wanted Karonga to forfeit the points they earned in that game which they won 2-1.

According to a letter from Sulom addressed to the Nomads, dated October 20 2014 and signed by its vice-general secretary Captain Thokozani Chazema, the league states that according to its findings, Kamanga is a bonafide player of Karonga United and that he was registered from Nkhata Bay Police FC on loan.

“The player was registered with Super Eagles [Mzuzu United] on loan from Nkhata Bay Police FC [also on loan].

“The player was dully cleared by the rightful owners, Nkhata Bay Police FC. St Kaduya might have used the player without being cleared from the mother team, Nkhata Bay Police FC,” reads part of the letter sourced by The Nation.

Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao confirmed having received Sulom’s response on the matter, but said they were not satisfied.

“They [Sulom] have not given us any documentation or evidence in contrast to our claims,” said Butao.
