Sunbird takes over Kara O’ Mula management

Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE)-listed Sunbird Tourism plc has taken over management of Kara O’ Mula Country Lodge in Mulanje.

In a published statement issued Yesterday, the hotel chain said Kara O’ Mula, now to be known as Sunbird Kara O’ Mula, is currently undergoing an extensive product upgrade to enhance its ambience and guest experience.

 Reads the statement: “The product and service improvement will in turn elevate the demand for the destination which for a long time has had significant potential that is yet to be realised considering that Mulanje Mountain is one of the major tourist attractions within the region.”

Sunbird Kara O’ Mula becomes the second property after Thawale Game Lodge in Majete Wildlife Reserve in Chikwawa which was signed under management contract in 2017.

Sunbird Tourism is a hotel chain with eight properties including four city hotels in the three regions of Malawi, two beach resorts along Lake Malawi and a mountain esort in the old capital Zomba and a game lodge in Chikapart from Thawale and Kara O’ Mula. n
