Super League teams intensify preps

TNM Super League teams at the weekend continued to tune up for the forthcoming 2018 season with friendly matches.

On Saturday, champions Be Forward Wanderers pipped fellow top-flight league side Masters Security 1-0 at Answer Academy in Dowa courtesy of Felix Zulu’s first-half  strike.

Zulu fired home a cross from left-back Precious Sambani in the 11th minute.

Yesterday, the Nomads played out a goalless draw against Civil Sporting Club at the same venue while Nyasa Big Bullets beat Azam Tigers  2-0 at Mulanje Park through goals from Henry Kabichi and Bright Munthali.

Silver Strikers were 4-0 winners over second-tier Dedza Young Soccer on Saturday.

The Bankers led 2-0 at interval via a brace from Binwell Katinji before Jack Chiona added the third from a penalty while Mphatso Phillemon Completed the rout.

Yesterday, Silver were raking on Salima Select in Salima.

At Mzuzu University ground, Moyale Barracks edged visiting Dwangwa United from Nkhotakota 3-1.

Deus Nkutu drew first blood for the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) side in the 12th minute before new-signing Dan Sibale doubled the lead. Chrispin Fukizi netted the third on the hour mark before Dwangwa scored their consolation goal through Innocent Manganyera.

Mzuni FC beat Kalembe Stars 2-1 in another friendly match. n
