Support, Airborne eyes 3rd spot

Malawi Defence Force (MDF) sides Support Battalion and Airborne Rangers are fighting for the third slot in the K3.2 million (about $20 000) Chipiku Lilongwe and Districts Football League (LDFL).

Support Battalion are third with 85 points from 41 games whereas Airborne Rangers are trailing them with a 10-point gap from 38 games.

Battalion has a single away game against Madisi Medicals to finish the league.

Airborne’s remaining games are against Madisi Medicals, Msundwe United, Mchinji Ranks and Mchinji Boma Stars who are in the relegation zone.

Battalion can earn a maximum of 85 points while Rangers’ maximum tally is 84 points.

Kamuzu Barracks (KB) finished at top and earned Super League promotion. Their last game, which they won 3-0, was against Support Battalion.

In Division One, the top two positions are occupied by Dowa Medicals and Dzaleka Leopards respectively while Nambuma United, Kasungu Medicals and Alinafe Medicals are fighting for the third position.

Nambuma United have 85 points from 41 games while Kasungu Medicals and Alinafe are on positions five and seven with 82 and 80 points from 40 and 39 games respectively.
