Support Battalion on Saturday finished as runners-up in the K6 million (about $15 000) Chipiku Lilongwe and Districts Football League Premiership despite stuttering in their last game.

The Malawi Defence Force (MDF) side played to a goalless draw against Chriz Allan at Mponela ground.

Support have finished on 76 points, six behind the champions Airborne Rangers. They have a record of 23 wins, seven draws and eight losses.

In other Saturday results, Dwangwa United finished the season on a positive note after beating Mchinji Ranks 2-1.

The visitors scored their goals in the second-half through Kondwani Basi and Biswick Chunga to finish on third position with 70 points.

Namitete Young Rangers bagged full points in their last game against Alinafe Medicals, with an emphatic 5-1 victory.

Leonard Mgemezulu was the hero of the day when he notched a hat-trick while Dadly Nankhumwa scored a brace. On 55 points, Rangers have finished the season on position nine.

Kasungu Police ascended to position five from six after beating Dedza Young Soccer 1-0 at home. The lone goal for law enforcers came in the 78th minute through their top goalscorer Charles Chimombo.

Msundwe United came from behind to hold Nambuma United to a 2-2 draw.
