Swazi coach talks tough

Swaziland national football team coach Harries Bulunga has set on mind games by declaring war on the Flames ahead of their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier slated for Sunday in Swaziland.

The Sihlangu Semnikati coach was quoted by Swazi daily The Observer on Wednesday as saying Somhlolo Stadium will be a war zone when they take on the Flames.

However, Flames coach Ernest Mtawali on Wednesday said while they respect their opponents, they will not be intimidated by media mind games.

“Preparations are, so far, going well and the players are responding positively to my training methods. We are ready for the match and I am sure we will win the match.” Bulunga was quoted as saying.

“We are not intimidated by their South African-based players. It will be 11 against 11 in the field of play and we will match them pound for pound in all the departments.”

But Mtawali, sounding ice-cool in an interview from Mpumalanga Province in South Africa yesterday, said: “You can understand why they are confident. They beat Guinea away in their opening qualifier and they will be facing us at their own backyard. We know what to expect from them and we would rather focus on our preparations.”
