St Andrews Church session clerk Stella Mwangonde said the objective of the seminar was to ensure that church members attain the quality and discipline needed in singing hymns.

“It was the synod’s concern that some songs in the hymn book were forgotten and rarely sung because church members were ignorant of how to go about them in chorus. The synod felt duty-bound to move in quickly and rescue the situation through a seminar,” said Mwangonde.

She said the workshop targeted choir groups and church members in general.

The synods’ early childhood coordinator Diane Cusick, who was the facilitator, observed that the seminar, apart from imparting the artistic knowledge, promoted unity among church members.
