In an interview, Tabitha was delighted to have scored in every game since the season started.

“I thank God that all seems to be working out in my quest to retain the Golden Boot Award,” she said.

Tabitha, who has set a target of 25 goals, scored 17 last season in her maiden season in the Chinese women’s top-flight league.

The top-notch striker missed the Cosafa women’s tournament because of club commitments.

National women’s football team coach Abel Mkandawire said Tabitha’s form is good for the national team.

National Women’s Football Association (NWFA) president Suzgo Ngwira also applauded her exploits in Chinese League.

“This is encouraging as it will translate to the national team. We are also proud of her because her performance put Malawi on the map,” Ngwira said.
