Tay Grin flirts with Tanzania‘s Vanessa Mdee
After collaborating with Nigerian aces 2Baba and Orezi, Tay Grin has teamed up with Tanzanian diva Vanessa Mdee on the new single Tola.
The tune, which was aired for the first time on Trace Africa last Monday, will be officially released today, according to Tay Grin.
“This will be a double release as I am set to drop both the audio track and video of Tola. The video release is exclusive to Trace Africa. The audio will premiere on radios across Malawi and the rest of Africa,” said the rapper in an interview.
Tay Grin said he is on a mission to connect Malawi to the rest of the world musically.
“Malawian talent shouldn’t be stuck anymore. I am working hard towards realising a big dream which is to take Malawi music to the highest level,” he explained.
He disclosed that he convinced Vanessa Mdee to take part in the collabo when she performed at his New Year’s Party in Lilongwe on December 31 2016.
Tola is an Afro-dance song produced by prolific youthful producer DJSonye.
The video was directed by Nigeria’s SesanOgunro, one of Africa’s rare and renowned video directors.
Tola comes at a time Tay Grin is preparing to participate in this year’s Iceland’s international festival, Secret Solstice, slated for June.
The festival features global music superstars such as Rick Ross and Young M.A.
