Hip hop artist Tay Grin is next week dropping his latest single, Chipapapa, in which he features Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer 2Face Idibia.
The song comes after the two met in London last year where Tay Grin, born Limbani Kalilani, sold the idea to the celebrated Nigerian musician.
“The time you have been anxiously waiting for has finally come. I promised you I was working on some new bangers and that this year would be. The countdown has begun and soon you shall hear Chipapapa featuring the legendary 2Face.
“I can’t wait for you guys to listen to this track. Once the track has been released I will run a variety of competitions to make sure you stay tuned. In the meantime, all true Nyau King and 2Face fans help spread the word. Let’s make history together. #2016goals #MalawiNigeria standup,” he said in an interview,
According to the artist, the song is expected out Monday next week.
“The audio will be released all across Africa from Monday. It’s a feel good song, a blend of Nigerian and Malawian culture. We both use childhood songs to bring out elements of our growing up. After that, we are then shooting a video in South Africa next month. It’s going to be an epic video and I am very excited for my fans to see it,” he said.
The song has been recorded at two different studios in Malawi and Nigeria but mastered by local hands.
Said self-styled Nyau King: “2face recorded his beat and then sent it here to DJ Sley for mixing and producing as well. I have always wanted to work with 2Face and this song seemed perfect for the both of us. We met in London and I played him the song, at the time I had just recorded the chorus and when he heard it, he liked it and as they say, the rest is history.”
