A few weeks after his return from a UK tour, hip-hop artist, Tay Grin, has received another invitation to fly to London next month to perform at this year’s Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (Beffta) Awards.
According to a statement which quotes the Beffta website, www.beffta.com, the “Malawian hip-hop superstar is ready to rock Beffta UK 2014 in London with his electrifying performance”.
Reads the statement: “This will be the second time the rapper jets into the country this year after his major tour in August-September, where he performed at the Commonwealth Festival in Scotland, Manchester and Nottingham”.
The 6th Beffta awards are slated for October 24 and 25 at The Hippodrome and will attract stars from US, Africa, Canada, UK, the Caribbean and the rest of Europe.
The awards honour and celebrate talented personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts.
Tay Grin, fondly known as the ‘Nyau King’, currently promoting his new single titled The Beach, says coming just after his UK tour, the invitation shows progress and bears witness to the fact that hard work pays off.
“I am very excited, I can’t wait to perform on yet another big stage and raise the Malawi flag high internationally. This event will be full of all the big industry executives from film, music, fashion and art, it’s definitely a great platform to showcase my talent and further progress my career.
“It will also give me an opportunity to meet other big artists and maybe work with them. I am currently preparing to give the best performance ever. I would like to thank the organisers for including me and especially Pauline Long, the founder of the awards,” the rapper said.
