The accompanied coordinators

Although Fridays are supposed to be working days, things are different for Chief Kazingist. For him, it is a resting day.

He, therefore, decided to spend the whole day at his base in Namiyango, either sleeping or playing bawo at a popular garage. He decided to take the latter path. The chief man of the skirt, therefore, kept himself occupied at the garage where very few people honourably accepted losing bawo.

Three hours after lunch hour, Chief Kazingist’s phone rang. It was his long time best friend, Chitabwino. It is said a true friend is known in time of trouble. Chitabwino is one of those people who were always available when the chief man of the skirt was in trouble in Balaka. It was, therefore, a crime not to respond to his call, no matter how busy the Chief Kazingist was.

“I am in your area, in Mthandizi particularly. I want to meet you. Do you have time?” Asked Chitabwino.

“Why can’t I have time for you? I can leave whatever I am doing and meet you,” replied Chief Kazingist.

“Fine, I am at a friend’s house and you can come. But I need your vehicle as well,” he said.

After 20 minutes, the two met. Chitabwino proposed that they go somewhere for a chat.

“Today is Friday and there is a live band at a corporate joint in Blantyre. We need to go there. Don’t worry, I will take care of everything,” said Chitabwino after noticing some hesitation from Chief Kazingist.

It should be pointed out that although the chief man of the skirt has been in Blantyre for about three years, he has never been to that place. Chitabwino told him the place reaches its climax at 10 in the night and that since it was not yet sunset, they had to kill time elsewhere.

Chief Kazingist chose the popular joint near his base in Namiyango.

After spending about three hours at this joint, they agreed to sample another joint in the same locality.

Then it was time to go downtown Blantyre. The place was indeed lovely and the band played good copied songs. Chief Kazingist was surprised with the taste of the beer and wondered if it came from the same company that brews the beer sold in the other joints. The kanyenya sold there was also tasty.

But one thing that surprised Chief Kazingist was that coordinators available already had companions.

“At any joint, you expect spare coordinators looking for men. But I am surprised that there is nothing here as everyone is occupied. Is that the way things should be?” Asked Chief Kazingist.

“This is not just a normal joint. It is high class, where many people bring their own companions for the sake of decency. Learn to live high-class,” responded Chitabwino.
