This afternoon The Boyz take on Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves in Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Nyasa Capital Finance Cup final at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre with the aim of ending their dominance.

Reserves have, so far, taken glory in the ThumbsUp Premier League and the PowerStart Tayale Cup.

The Boyz coach Phillimon Jumbe yesterday said they are aware that Reserves are the toughest team.

He said: “We cannot deny the fact that Bullets Reserves are the hardest-to-beat team in the region but that does not mean they are unbeatable.

“They are good at keeping possession of the ball and are ruthless on the attack. We have been training the whole week on how to contain them and I am confident we have done enough to deserve victory this Sunday.”

On his part, Reserves coach Enos Chatama said they cannot afford to miss the opportunity of adding a third trophy on their mantelpiece.

“For The Boyz to reach the final, it means they are a good team and we will not underrate them. However, we cannot let an opportunity of winning a third trophy this season slip through our fingers,” he said.

According to SRFA vice-general secretary Kingsley Simbeye, the match will be preceded by a third place play-offs between Bangwe All Stars and Sable Farming.

To reach the Nyasa Capital Finance Cup final, Reserves thrashed Bangwe All Stars 8-1 on aggregate in two-legged semi-finals while The Boyz beat TNM Super League candidates Sable Farming by 6-3 aggregate.

Nyasa Capital Finance unveiled K45 million worth three-year sponsorship for regional football association tournaments over a month ago with each region getting K15 million; K5 million per season.
