The dangers of sexual experimentation

When boys and girls go steady, an opportunity for them to become involved in sexual experimentation presents itself. They begin to think of themselves as engaged or even married. They think what they are doing is perfectly alright.

At sixteen, girls are more likely to be full of day dreams. The boy of the same age is in his strongest period of hormone induced sexual experimentation stage. If they go steady, they may become too involved with one another. If they move into an intimate relationship, they are exposed to temptation that they may not always be able to handle.

One of the ways for the girl to protect herself is by making definite plans when they are out for an evening. If they leave this to the boy, they might end up with nothing to do but drive around in the car.

Many girls are troubled at this stage. They think of how they can keep a boy and still hold him at a safe distance. Can she say “no”, still be popular and not considered old fashioned? The answer is yes, she can.

Girls should realise that boys have a strong sex drive and so they should avoid or refrain from stimulating the boy to the point where he will not understand if she does not get intimate with him. If they lead boys on, they may get into serious trouble because some day they will meet up with a boy who will not stop short of intercourse.

Most girls become very involved with and possessive of a boy with whom they have had sexual relations. She thinks this is true love, whereas to the boy it may simply be physical release.  They will however be shocked to discover that he does not always share their deep attachment. The very same boy may later sit in judgement on her. He might reason that if she fell for him she will do the same for someone else.

Now, in his own thinking he is a “He Man”. He can talk to his friends about his conquest. In doing so he gives the girl a bad reputation. If she becomes pregnant, she is the one who must worry about taking care of her illegitimate baby or getting an abortion. Abortions are very dangerous, besides being against the Word of God.

A girl should understand fully why she should not have sexual relationships with boys.
