If the response to the Uisova hit is anything to go by, prepare to be blown away, because Malawi’s freshest girl group Nyasa Queens is here for the long run.

The country has not seen it all yet when it comes to music bringing in a different flavour to Malawian music, the three young ladies namely, Alice Mtanga aka Candy, Shamelah Gonkho aka Sane G and Diana Phiri aka Catalia, are poised for stardom.
The song, featuring one of Malawi’s fastest rappers Mwanache, Uisova talks about love and asks many questions which the audience is free to judge depending on the situation they are in.
“We titled it Uisova as we wanted something catchy and unique that we will remain synonymous with,” explained Candy.
The group met in October last year and are due to release their debut album Muli Bwanji in March.
“We are recording at Su Records and we should be done mid-March.
However, we are not sure of the launch of the album which promises to be big considering the kind of music we are doing. We are taking one step at a time,” said Catalia.
Other singles taken from the album include Kobo Gals, Undimasule which is also gaining ground on radios and Muli Bwanji. The trio does Afro pop and a fusion of pop and R’n’B.
Catalia is working part time in the Capital City while Candy is a journalism student and Sane G is a student at Lilongwe Technical College.
“We are working hard on this and we promise our fans that we are going to represent the best. We will continue with the path we have taken with Uisova,” said Candy.
