The Legend: Madonna’s 30th anniversary

Love her or loathe her, you have to admit that she is a great music royalty and very successful at it too. Having the number one tour in the world last year makes her timeless and relevant, and although beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, there is no denying her physique at her age is sexy and eye-tingling.

Super mega-rich Queen of Pop, Madonna, recently beat to pulp the legendary music great, King of Pop, Elvis Presley to become the world’s most successful artist in history, but according to reports her music is hated by her own children including her two Malawian adopted toddlers, David Banda and Mercy James.

The Material Girl, whose real name is Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone popularly known as Madge in the music circles recently broke the record held by the all time great super-talented Elvis Presley when her recent album MDNA which entered the UK charts at number 1 – the 12th chart-topper of her career while Elvis had 11, according to The Sun Newspaper of the UK.

Madonna, who is considered the world’s most successful female artist of all time, has had audiences all over the world and ‘toy-boys’ falling at feet for years but her children – Lourdes, Rocco and her Malawian adopted David and Mercy are tougher to please and do not like her music at all.

Madonna is quoted as saying by The Sun: “My kids are brutally honest when it comes to what they don’t like. They have no tact whatsoever. They’ll just say, ‘Mum, get that song of yours off.’ None of my four kids likes my music at all. It’s so hurtful but at least they are honest and they do not pretend.”

Perhaps we need to send David and his adoptive sister Mercy a bunch of Malawian music, maybe they would enjoy listening to Lucius Banda, Piksy, Lulu, Dan Lu, Armstrong and Maskal.

But according to the report, the world’s successful female artist’s insecurities don’t end with being hurt by her kids’ attitude towards her music.

Madonna is said to be a strict but dedicated parent to her children and does not allow anything come between her and her brood.

Madonna is said to be working harder than ever to get in good shape for her 30 year anniversary tour that she is even on a skipping diet – like Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson used to do before a fight.

Madge said: “I have to say that in three decades of performing I’ve never worked so hard or been so scrupulous. Or freaked out more than I’ve at the minute.

“My whole life has been a combination of hard work and prayer. Preparation is essential but you need as many angels watching over you as possible as well. I’m getting ready for rehearsing for my world tour to mark my 30 years of a successful career in the music business so I have been in training,” she added.

Her Majesty the Queen of Pop, Madonna says she is giving her all as she tours the world for her 30th anniversary.

“There has been lots of cardio and I’m doing a combination of pilates and dance cardio. And there’s been plenty of skipping rope work. The envelope, I’m pushing for is as spectacular a show as I can. It should be a feat for the eyes and ears,” said Madonna.

And you can rest assured it will be. Even though Madonna could ditch the lederhosen and crotch-grabbing, this is the proof the Queen of Pop isn’t handing over her title as Queen of Pop just as yet.

Madonna’s ground breaking, critically acclaimed and controversial and visually stunning MDNA landmark concert is expected to be released on DVD and blue ray on August 26, 2013 to the global audiences.

Born on 16th August 1958 in Bay City in Michigan State, Madonna moved to new York with dreams to become a ballet dancer, Madonna went on to study choreography and did some modelling.

Pop icon, Madonna who has sold more than 300 million records wide world is the most successful solo artist in the history of chart and was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

Last year, 2012 Madonna who a few years ago quoted global controversy after she adopted a Malawian tot, David Banda, with many accusing her that she used her celebrity status to bulldoze into Malawian legal system, was crowned as the greatest woman in music history.

Madonna also holds a Guinness World record as the best selling recording artist of all time and is reported to have a net worth of over one billion dollars.

After stars reach a certain point, it’s easy to forget what they become famous for and concentrate solely on their personas. Madonna is such a star.

She skyrocketed to stardom quickly in 1984 that obsessed most of her musical virtues.

Appreciating her music became even more difficult as the decade wore on, as discussing her lifestyle became more common.

However, one of Madonna’s greatest achievements is how she has manipulated the media and the public with her music, her videos, her publicity and her sexuality.

Arguably, Madonna is the first female pop star to have complete control of her music and image.
