Genesis 2:18  reads; ‘’ The Lord God said, it is not good for the man to be alone, I will make a helper suitable for him’’. On Genesis 1 :27 the word says ‘’so God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.’’ God blessed them and asked them to be fruitful.

The female was created at the same time as the male, only that the manifestation of a woman came about after God had seen how Adam was functioning in the Garden of Eden when he was alone with all the animals and plantation created by God for his usage. Despite what Adam had, he still felt lonely and life was not enjoyable.

In Genesis 2 :18, God is now fulfilling the marriage set-up. He is very concerned about the position of the one coming to join Adam, saying that this person is coming as a suitable helper to his life. This is someone who is always going to be there; offering proper and fitting help to him. So, to every married man, God has given a suitable helper to his life.

Having given the woman the position of helper to her husband, God invested in her power to be able to achieve things and change situations. Proverbs 31:13-18 she selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark, she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.

She considers a field and buys it, out of her earnings she plants a vine yard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable and her lamp does not go out at night.

Continues next week.
